Your role

 

 

As a Technical Proposal Engineer, you will oversee the technical aspects of our projects, from initial request to final client agreement. You’ll coordinate with internal experts to ensure our proposals meet client needs, analyzing technical requirements, and presenting optimized solutions.

This is a dynamic role involving both technical details and client interactions, even at an international level.

Your key responsibilities:

 

  • Manage the preparation of technical proposals, including RFI, RFQ, and RFP analysis.
  • Perform calculations for equipment sizing and process performance, with expert validation.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and internal teams to integrate cost estimates and timelines.
  • Analyze project specifications to prepare accurate offers.
  • Ensure technical completeness and clarity in proposals to avoid ambiguities.
  • Support the sales team in preparing technical documents and cost calculations. The role is highly collaborative, involving coordination with different teams to deliver projects together, making it a truly transversal function.

You'll engage in the creation of production lines involving unique electrical steel technologies and advanced galvanization techniques, which are exclusive to John Cockerill.

You’ll be joining a multicultural and collaborative team of 2 draftsman, 2 electrical engineers, 2 thermal engineers, 2 mechanical engineers, and the Head of Proposals.

Your profile

 

 

Your experience, knowledge and hard skills:  

 

  • Minimum 5 years in the international flat steel industry or a similar technical field.
  • Experience with continuous annealing and/or galvanizing lines for the automotive industry, with cold rolling mills or with pickling lines and acid regeneration installations.
  • Strong technical and market knowledge, particularly in the automotive sector.
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings and plans.
  • Proficiency in English and French, with excellent technical communication skills.
