🎯 Your Role

As Stack Design Manager, you lead the design, development, and industrialization of electrolyzer stacks within the Product Development division.
You act as the technical authority, ensuring design quality, product consistency, roadmap alignment, and team performance.

You play a key role in structuring the department, maturing the product portfolio, and securing competitiveness in global markets.

 

 

 

📌 Your Key Responsibilities

🔧 1. Technical leadership & expertise

 

  • Perform, review and validate mechanical, thermal and CFD calculations
  • Define detailed functional specifications for stack operation
  • Collaborate with CAD designers to produce and validate detailed 2D/3D designs
  • Identify and develop innovative materials, design concepts, and technical solutions
  • Apply Design-to-Cost principles in all development steps
  • Prepare technical specifications for procurement and manufacturing
  • Validate suppliers through inspections and conformity assessments
  • Support and deploy validation tests (mechanical, materials, functional tests)

 

🏭 2. Product industrialization

 

  • Ensure product industrialization feasibility throughout development
  • Work closely with Manufacturing, Quality and Industrialization teams
  • Secure design robustness and global manufacturability (EU, Asia, global sites)

 

🚀 3. Product roadmap

 

  • Propose design evolutions aligned with market expectations, performance and industrial constraints
  • Contribute to the roadmap of two strategic stacks:
    • High-performance EU stack
    • Global standardized product

 

🧩 4. Design Reviews governance

 

  • Organize and lead cross-functional Design Reviews
  • Establish design evolution and validation processes
  • Ensure traceability, compliance and continuous improvement

 

👥 5. Team management

 

  • Define objectives, priorities and workload distribution
  • Monitor progress and ensure team balance and continuity
  • Support skills development and well-being of engineers and experts
  • Foster autonomy, collaboration and ownership

👤 Your Profile

Experience & technical skills:

 

  • Mechanical engineer (materials, thermal sciences, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics)
  • 5+ years as a Team Lead in a Design Office, or 10+ years as a senior design expert
  • Proven experience in:
    • Mechanical design & industrialization
    • Pressure equipment
    • FEM/CFD calculations
    • Machining, surface treatment, mechanical assembly
    • R&D → industrialization cycles
    • Quality, conformity, certification, risk analysis
  • Strong knowledge of ASME / EN / ISO standards
  • Fluent in English; French is a strong asset
