Hydrogen-related activities are organized within a subsidiary called "John Cockerill Hydrogen." This entity benefits from:
- Its current position as world leader in the manufacture of electrolysers, with over 25 years' experience,
- A complete range of integrated solutions for hydrogen production and refueling stations,
- Production capacity in Asia and Europe,
- An integrated test laboratory for key electrolyser components.
To reinforce its Hydrogen Sector, John Cockerill is looking for a Project Manager for its Hydrogen Mobility development activity.
The objective is to find a motivated professional to join the John Cockerill Hydrogen Mobility department based in Seraing, Belgium.
Mission & Scope
The Project Manager is responsible for managing a portfolio of projects in progress, handling several projects simultaneously in industrial fields.
Depending on the scale of the project, the Project Manager may rely on in-house resources (design office, purchasing department, quality department, site supervision, etc.) to ensure the smooth execution of the project. They may also carry out certain tasks directly.
The main objectives are to ensure results align with budgets and profitability, meet deadlines, and satisfy customers, all while defending the interests of John Cockerill.
The Project Manager ensures the application of the Occupational Health & Safety policy and integrates safety, quality, and environmental standards within projects and teams.
Main Responsibilities
As a Project Manager, your roles and responsibilities will include:
- Defining the project framework, including identifying external and internal partners.
- Organizing and conducting meetings with customers, partners, and subcontractors, and defining appropriate communication channels.
- Maintaining commercial relations with customers from project acknowledgment to final acceptance of the installation.
- Supervising and coordinating project teams, and, if necessary, delving into the technical aspects of the project in collaboration with others.
- Managing contractual, administrative, planning, and financial aspects of projects (including amendments and quarterly budget reviews).
- Providing customers with documentation on all aspects of the project, ensuring completeness and consistency of the information provided.
- Participating in the definition and implementation of work processes and tools for the department.
Profile
The ideal candidate for the Project Manager position should have the following profile:
- Bachelor’s degree or above in chemical, electromechanical, automation, or other related majors.
- More than 5 years of professional experience in project management in EPC Projects (Engineering, Procurement, Construction), preferably in Oil & Gas or Energy sectors.
- Proficiency in project management knowledge and systems.
- Experience with contracts principles and negotiations is a plus.
- Good command of English and French, which are the working languages.
- Ability to manage goals, understand them accurately, decompose them, find suitable paths, and apply scientific methods to solve practical problems.
- Skills to balance resource conflicts between multiple projects and their interests.
- Teamwork spirit, strong learning ability, and active learning mindset.
- Strong proficiency in MS Project or Primavera is a plus (planning software).
