Position Overview
The Project Coordinator plays a key role in the company’s growth by ensuring the smooth and successful execution of ongoing projects. The role ensures customer satisfaction while complying with budgetary, technical, scheduling, and safety requirements inherent to John Cockerill, as well as applicable ISO standards.
The Project Manager acts as a central contributor to the effective delivery of projects by coordinating direct team resources, internal shared services, and interactions with customers and suppliers.
Key Responsibilities

You combine the roles of technical project manager and project coordinator; for projects of various sizes, scopes, and products, you manage the project from start to finish.

You manage projects with a value of up to €1 million.

You oversee the Basic Design of the solutions to be delivered, including products and ancillary equipment, in coordination with the relevant support functions.

You bring specific technical expertise in thermal design, process design, and equipment design, strengthening the After-Sales team.

You manage the execution of both overall and detailed engineering studies for your projects.

You manage schedules and resources, both internal and external.

You validate technical documentation, drawings, and parts lists while ensuring quality, deadlines, and cost control.

You interact closely with all involved departments: Engineering, Procurement, Site Erection, Commissioning, etc.

You participate in on-site inspections of Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSG) and Industrial Boilers to develop your technical skills and deepen product expertise.

When required, you actively support on-site activities through your direct presence.

You ensure strict compliance with on-site safety standards (risk analyses, prevention plans, required equipment, etc.).

Proactive, rigorous, autonomous, and demonstrating strong leadership, you act in the best interests of John Cockerill.

You actively contribute to progress, reporting, and feedback meetings.

You prepare and present monthly Cost Control reports (budget monitoring) for your projects.

You report directly to the Operations Manager.
Profile

Higher technical education such as Thermal Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, and/or Industrial Engineering.

Minimum 5 years of experience in engineering design offices and technical project management within the energy production sector, preferably in an international context. Site experience is a plus.

Strong interest in developing technical expertise in thermal design, process design, and equipment design, alongside the role of Project Coordinator.

Proficient in office tools (MS Office) and preferably in planning software (Primavera, MS Project).

Fluent in English; additional languages are an asset.

Reliable, highly autonomous, with excellent interpersonal skills; a strong coordinator and communicator, your initiative-taking and problem-solving abilities will be key strengths.

Willingness to travel for short- and medium-term international assignments.
