Your role

 

As an FP&A / Financial Controller, you play a key role in ensuring the financial performance, reliability and visibility of hydrogen projects and business activities.

You act as a true business partner to project managers, operations and management, supporting decision-making in a fast-evolving and demanding industrial environment.

This position combines financial expertise, project controlling, business planning and cross-functional collaboration within an international context.


Your key responsibilities

 

Financial steering & business planning

• Prepare and consolidate annual budgets, quarterly reforecasts (P&L & cash-flow) and long-term business plans
• Contribute to Monthly Business Reviews (MBR) and ensure high-quality financial reporting
• Analyse variances between actuals, budgets and forecasts and propose corrective actions• Monitor balance sheet items (working capital, CAPEX, liquidity, treasury)
• Support strategic topics such as capital increases, debt raising, investments or restructuring

 

Project controlling

• Monitor and control project budgets (costs, procurement, subcontractors, logistics)
• Identify financial risks (penalties, scope variations, currency exposure) and propose mitigation plans
• Support project managers in cost tracking and financial governance• Contribute to CAPEX and R&D follow-up
• Ensure compliance with Group standards and contractual obligations

 

Reporting & stakeholder collaboration

• Develop and improve reporting tools and cost control methodologies
• Provide clear, synthetic and decision-oriented analyses to management
• Interface with finance teams, operations, engineering, procurement and external partners (banks, auditors, suppliers when required)

You ensure a high level of production quality, accuracy and synthesis in all deliverables.


Your team

 

You will join the Finance team within the Hydrogen division, based in Seraing (Belgium).

The environment is dynamic and demanding, currently in a structuring phase, requiring strong adaptability and ownership.

Your profile

 

Experience & technical skills

• Master’s degree in Finance, Business Administration or related field
• 8–10 years of experience
• 3–5 years in a Big Four or audit firm• Minimum 3 years in an industrial environment as Financial Controller / Project Controller / FP&A
• Strong experience in project-based or industrial environments (EPC, energy, construction is a plus)
• Solid understanding of budgeting, forecasting, treasury and cost control
• SAP knowledge is a strong asset
• Power BI is a plus
• Exposure to digital or AI tools is an asset
• Fluent in French and English
