Main Responsabilities

  • Draft contractual correspondence
  • Provide strategic support in public contract analysis and negotiations.
  • Assist in the execution of projects by managing contract administration (customers and suppliers), with a focus on public contracts and claim management.
  • Provide legal support in coordination with the Group’s Commercial & Legal department.
  • Train teams on public contract administration and promote best practices.
  • Implement tools for contract management: Scope of Work, RACI matrix, deviation lists, MCPR schedules, meeting minutes, etc.
  • Attend meetings with customers, partners, and suppliers with project teams to secure contract conditions, margins, and cash collection.
  • Develop and maintain a network of outsourced resources to support John Cockerill business.
  • When required, support local representatives, coach project teams, and be involved in negotiations and cash collection efforts.

Profil

  • A Master's degree in law is essential for this role
  • Fluent in English and French (reading, speaking, and listening).
  • Dutch language proficiency is a strong asset.
  • Experience in managing maintenance contracts, engineering contracts, or long-term service agreements (LTSA) is essential for this role.
  • Ability to quickly analyze contracts, particularly public contracts/tenders, and identify key aspects.
  • Strong skills in identifying project risks and opportunities, particularly in public sector projects.
  • Ability to analyze complex situations and implement resolution methodologies.
  • Ability to develop recommendations, propose solutions, and suggest improvement scenarios.
  • Knowledge of taxation, insurance, and accounting is a plus.
  • Familiarity with regulations and specificities of public contracts, is a significant advantage.
  • Experience in managing the administrative and economic aspects of contract amendments and handling commercial disputes.
  • Experience drafting or verifying contract compliance.
