Designer - Industry

Essential Duties 

Learn and follow all ISO processes and procedures

Scope Management

Prepare accurate detail drawings of parts and component

Calculates lengths, areas, volumes, and weights accurately

Creates accurate and complete bills of material

Create accurate and complete requisition packages

Create drawing number and title entry into Master Document List

Upload documents to SharePoint

Upload drawings to SharePoint in correct format

Complete engineering check list for design plans

Complete assigned tasks accurately and on time

Travel domestically as required

Create main assembly drawings and models

Create sub-assembly drawings and models

Create sub-assembly models of purchased items

Follow-up on activities/tasks you assign to others

Review/maintain contractual scope of supply and scope of work for assigned sections

of equipment

Accurately estimate hours to complete assigned tasks

Communicate effectively with project team

Track activities of multiple detailers under your direction and provide feedback on

their schedule and activities

Check subcontractors/integrators work

Check the design and detail drawings of assigned sections of equipment for form,

function, and accuracy

Check calculations assigned to others

Check requisition packages before issuing

Participate in design reviews

Resolve assembly/installation issues in a timely manner with minimal impact on cost

Create calculations (power and drive, refractory, etc.)

Travel internationally as required

Responsible for all assembly models, drawings, and design for a project (25% design

management, 75% design work)

Ensures functionality of design for a given project

Works with subcontractors/integrators

Track activities of multiple designers under your direction and provide feedback on

their schedule and activities

Assists with customer technical communication

Assist in internal and external scheduling of work for a project

Approve calculations of designers

Helps with make/buy engineering & shop/field assembly decisions

Compose drawing/document list for projects

Helps with design plans

Approves requisition packages before submitting to project engineer

Send transmittal documents when required

Implement training and ensure compliance with all ISO processes and procedures

Quote hours for proposed projects

Enforce change control across multiple projects

Perform personnel reviews

Determine team goals for future improvements
