Position : Materials Engineer (Polymers _ Plastics)

 

Job Location : Mumbai (India)

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Materials Specification

 

  • Produce specifications of materials

 

  • Characterize materials to obtain their properties

 

  • Specify, develop, manage and keep up to date the materials database

 

  • Ensure materials database is up to date

 

  • Ensure materials compliance with the applicable technical and safety standards, regulations, directives, local laws.

 

Materials Testing

 

  • Test materials to obtain their properties (all types) to enable design integrity and manufacturing process stability

 

  • Test materials to support risk assessments, and to support issues analysis and forensic investigations.

 

Special Processes Specification

 

    • Specify and develop together with supply chain all special processes.

 

    • Identify, involve, and establish effective interaction with relevant representatives of the supply chain.

 

 

Support Design Engineers

 

  • Support design engineers during design and validation of new products and product improvement
  • Develop and issue all the materials documentation during New Product Introduction process (NPI)

 

 

Materials Design Authority

 

  • Review, accept and approve the design definition i.e., drawings

 

Support Supply Chain

 

  • Support qualification of suppliers
  • Support resolution of deviations during manufacturing.

 

Support Customer Support

 

  • Support resolution of issues in operation.

 

Manage Materials Development Projects:

 

  • Lead and manage developments of new materials and processes.

 

Manage Materials Team:

  • Drive, motivate, and coach materials team, and ensure efficient communication and active feedback.
  • Ensure trainings and qualification plans to enable growth of team members, and develop materials leadership of JCH2

 

 

Education and Experience

 

  • You have 10-15 years’ experience in Plastics, polymers Engineering experience.
  • Sealing devices
  • Materials specifications
  • Materials characterization
  • Materials database
  • Special processes specifications
  • Destructive and non destructive inspection methods specification

 

 

Governance

 

  • Global responsibility and authority
