Key Responsibilities
- Team Integration & Collaboration
- Be fully integrated into a Data Specialist team supporting multiple enterprise data applications
- Collaborate closely with an existing SAP BW/4HANA expert team based in Belgium
- Act as an interface between SAP BW/4HANA teams, BI/reporting teams, and business stakeholders
- Support BI teams by ensuring data models are reliable, performant, and fit for reporting needs
- BW/4HANA Application Support & Operations
- Monitor daily BW process chains and background jobs
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve process chain failures
- Rerun and optimize BW process chains when required
- Investigate and resolve data load, extraction, and reporting issues
- Provide 2nd / 3rd level support for BW/4HANA-related incidents raised by business users
- Access & Authorization Management
- Implement SAP BW/4HANA access requests submitted via our ticketing system (Jira)
- Ensure authorizations are correctly implemented and compliant with security policies
- Validate access provisioning and perform regular access control checks
- Support audit and compliance activities related to BW authorizations
- Incident Resolution & Change Implementation
- Analyze and resolve technical issues reported by business users
- Perform root cause analysis and propose sustainable corrective actions
- Implement change requests within the current BW/4HANA application scope
- Coordinate closely with BI teams to ensure changes are compatible with reporting use cases
Evolution & Development Opportunities
Data Modeling & New Developments (BW/4HANA – LSA++)
As skills and autonomy grow, the role offers opportunities to:
- Design and implement new BW/4HANA data flows following LSA++ methodology
- Develop and enhance BW objects such as ADSOs, CompositeProviders, InfoObjects, and Transformations
- Optimize data models for performance, scalability, and reporting efficiency
- Contribute to the evolution of BW/4HANA architecture and standards
Enterprise Performance Planning – BW-IP / BPC Embedded
With proven expertise, the candidate may further evolve toward:
- Supporting and developing the BW‑IP / BPC Embedded solution
- Enhancing Enterprise Performance Planning models used at Group level
- Implementing planning functions, sequences, input-ready queries, and layouts
- Collaborating with Finance and Controlling teams to support budgeting, forecasting, and planning cycles
Required Skills & Experience
Technical Skills
- Strong experience with SAP BW/4HANA
- Hands-on expertise in process chain monitoring and troubleshooting
- Knowledge of BW authorizations and security concepts
- Experience with incident and change management tools (e.g. Jira)
- Design, develop, and maintain CDS Views integration with SAP (ECC/S/4HANA).
- Manage end-to-end data extraction from SAP systems, including standard and custom extractors.
- Enhance and optimize SAP extractors (FI, CO, etc.), including delta handling, user exits/BAdIs, and performance tuning.
- Solid understanding of ETL processes, data modelling, and system performance
Planning (Nice to Have / Growth-Oriented)
- Initial exposure or strong interest in BW-IP and BPC Embedded
- Interest in Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) concepts
Soft Skills
- Strong collaboration skills in distributed, international team environments. Ability to communicate clearly and assertively in a cross-cultural environment.
- Clear and structured communication with technical and business stakeholders
- High discipline in ticket management, SLA adherence, and documentation
