Job Purpose
The Procurement Scheduler is responsible to maintain the constant flow of material and components to enable the On Time Delivery of the Project. from RFQ to Delivery of Equipment/components to Manufacturing plant ( Taloja / Hedavali ) & Directly to Customer for Out sourced Equipment’s & Bought Out’s ) by coordination with Vendor / Engineering / Manufacturing / QA / Project Manager / Procurement.
The position is based in Navi Mumbai (India)
Key Responsibilities
- Sending RFQ of Outsourced Equipments & coordinate with suppliers for receiving offers.
- Maintain, follow-up and control supplier contractual agreed dates which include inspection, delivery, and payment milestones.
- Review, monitor and maintain the status of supplier / sub-vendor procurement activities (i.e. obtaining certificates, verification/evaluation of vendor activities to monitor sub-vendor progress).
- Verifying the supplier reported progress and ability to meet its delivery obligations.
- Monitor actual outputs versus the production plan weekly and Fortnightly.
- Visit suppliers as & when required to verify the status of progress or review corrective actions.
- Coordinate with QA for arranging Inspection & effect the shipment after QA clearance.
- Coordinate shipping with Logistics department.
- Inspect/ Verify the packing of the equipment prior to shipments to ensure that it is suitable for safe transit as well as for multiple handling at site. Record damages if any during shipment; notify supplier & EXIM department for claiming Transit Insurance.
- Participate for doing assessment of new suppliers for equipment Outsourcing.
- Actively participate for “Make or Buy” decision to decide whether to manufacture within JCIL factory or to Outsource depending on Cost, Quality & delivery capabilities.
- Coordinate for delivering Free Issue material to Outsourcing suppliers.
- Visiting supplier’s factory on need basis for expediting the manufacturing.
- Ensuring deliveries of Outsourced equipment’s in line with Project Schedule and as per Erection schedule.
- Expedite and track shortages of Outsourced equipment’s.
- Interfaces with Production Planning, E&C, Projects and purchasing to identify material shortages impacting production or Erection & take action for completing the delivery of shortage.
Training and qualifications:
- Mechanical Engineer.
- Proficiency in English.
Experience:
- Experience in Procurement / Planning / Manufacturing Activities (4 to 7 years minimum).
- Experience in Fabrication Components, like Structures, Tanks, Ducts, Casings etc. is needed.
Knowledge and skills:
- Procurement Activity.
- Knowledge about Manufacturing Process.
Behavioral skills:
- Teamwork, including with foreign entities.
- Easy communication with stakeholders,
- Ability of analyse the situation and prepare synthesis.
- Results driven.
