1. Job Purpose
-
- To manage Procurement of Manufacturing commodities for projects related to steel plant / OEM.
2. Key Result Area
-
- To prepare RFQ after drawing / Design study and technical requirements as per QAP and purchase requisitions.
- To work out should cost / estimate and negotiate with suppliers for competitive pricing and release the Purchase orders in a timely manner.
- Monitor, track and prepare MIS reports related to procurement status.
3. Key Responsibilities
-
- Drawing/design study for understanding various Mfg. processes involved & related technical requirements.
- Preparation of RFQ for procurement of various Mfg. components (Fabricated, Machined components) and equipment, with clearly defined technical and commercial terms.
- Cost estimate / should cost- working and commercial negotiations for competitive pricing.
- Monitoring & Tracking of procurement progress as per schedule requirements.
- Coordination with functions like QA / planning / Design to resolve supplier queries and ensure delivery on time.
- Expediting with suppliers to ensure deliveries as per agreed schedules.
4. Qualification and Experience
The candidate should be
-
- Graduate in Mechanical / production Engineering from a reputed university with 8 – 12 years of experience in procurement of fabricated and machined components for heavy machine building industry, preferably with steel plant OEM.
5. Technical Competencies
-
- Good knowledge of various manufacturing processes and cost estimation.
- Negotiation skills to conclude techno commercial discussions as per target pricing and delivery, along with INCO terms.
- Hands-on experience in SAP (MM) functionalities.
6. Other Competencies
-
- Good Communication Skills
- Interpersonal Skills & ability to Lead techno commercial discussions with suppliers.
- Good knowledge of supplier base in the manufacturing domain.
- Good working knowledge of MS office and reporting tools.
