Job Purpose


•Produces machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) Milling VMC/ HMC/ Palnomiller machine.

Key Result Area

•Maintaining quality and safety standards, keeping records, and maintaining equipment’s.

Key Responsibilities


•Program Management: Create, load, examine, and modify CNC programs to ensure efficient machine runs.
•Machine Setup: Set up tools and load materials onto CNC machines, including milling and Planomiller machines.
•Planning & Interpretation: Study engineering drawings, specifications, machining parameters, and interpret geometric dimensions and tolerances.
•Programming & Calibration: Enter instructions, set zero/reference points, configure tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches. Calculate requirements and prove part programs.
•Operation & Verification: Load feed mechanisms, position stock, and verify settings by measuring positions, first-run parts, and sample workpieces against standards.
•Quality Assurance: Take precise measurements, detect malfunctions, troubleshoot processes, adjust / reprogram controls, sharpen / replace worn tools, and adhere to QA procedures.
•Safety & Maintenance: Maintain safe operations by following safety procedures / regulations and perform preventive maintenance on cutting tools.
•Shift Continuity: Document and communication actions, irregularities, and ongoing needs to maintain workflow across shifts
Miscellaneous
•Ensures compliance to quality, safety & environmental standards as per ISO 9001, 45001.


Qualification and Experience


The candidate should be an


•ITI/NCTVT Machinist course from a recognized institute with around 3- 5 yrs experience in any heavy engineering industry
•Knowledge of SIEMENS / FANUC/ HASS
•Knowledge of CAD/CAM is desirable.

Technical Competencies


•Knowledge on reading an engineering drawings
•Knowledge on CNC Milling/ / Palnomiller / VMC/ HMC programming.
•Knowledge in using a wide variety of measuring instruments.
•Knowledge in cutting tools & cutting parameter.
