Azure Data Engineer - Specialist (1-3 Years)

Location - Mumbai, India

Job Purpose

As an Azure Data Engineer, your main responsibilities will include understanding end user’s needs, translating them intro ETL pySpark scripts, orchestrating ETL with Synapse, testing the solution and eventually deploying to the production environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, construct, test, and maintain architectures such as databases and large-scale processing systems using Azure Synapse and Azure Data Factory.
• Leverage pySpark and SQL for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.
• Implement and manage data pipelines in Azure Synapse.
• Ensure system compliance with Azure administration and security basics.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand and meet their data needs.
• Write SQL queries for data extraction and analysis.
• Organize backlog in the Jira ticketing tool.
• Write comprehensive documentation.

Deliverables:

• ETL transformations with pySpark notebooks
• Azure Synapse pipelines’ orchestration
• CI/CD deployment pipelines

Education & Experience

• Bachelor of Engineering.
• 1-3 Years of relevant experience.

Certifications:

• DP-203: Data Engineering on Microsoft Azure is a must.
• AZ-104: Microsoft Azure Administrator is considered an asset.

Background, Skills and Competencies

Soft skills:

• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills in English both written and verbal is mandatory for this role.
• Proven international experience in a multi-cultural environment is mandatory for this role.

Technical skills:

Mandatory:

• Proficiency with Azure cloud principles.
• Proficiency with Azure Synapse.
• Proficiency with Azure Data Factory
• Proficiency with the CI/CD concept (version control and deployment pipelines)
• Proficiency with SQL.
• Proficiency with pySpark

Considered an asset:

• Knowledge of Azure DevOps (repos and pipelines).
• Knowledge of Power BI
• Knowledge of Jira Service Management
• Knowledge of Microsoft Power Platform
• Knowledge of Agile/SCRUM.
