Main Responsibilities
In collaboration with the relevant departments, you will be responsible for:
- For own portfolio, lead project procurement operations (from RFQ to PO closure). This includes sending RFQ, Coordination with Engineering department for completing technical approval, coordination with Head Quarter to finalize the commercial negotiation while ensuring on time ordering & on time delivery of equipment as per project schedule.
- Prepare sourcing strategies to improve quality, delivery lead time and competitiveness and to mitigate supply chain risk.
- Develop & maintain price norms & Rate contracts.
- Evaluating the performance of current suppliers and helping them meet required standards through the implementation and monitoring of action and improvement plans.
- Playing a key role in the supplier selection process based on a comparison table of offers.
- Protecting John Cockerill’s interests in accordance with the contractual terms of the client contract.
- Supporting the sales process by:
- Providing unit prices or methods for calculating budgetary prices for the materials, components, or services under your responsibility.
- Negotiating prices and assessing remaining negotiation margins to validate and secure prices for critical materials, components, and services.
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of procurement processes/procedures and their interactions with other processes.
- Applying principles of ethics and sustainable development, ensuring compliance with John Cockerill’s governance rules.
- Anticipating risks and opportunities at all stages of the procurement process and influencing the definition of needs and specifications by providing market insights.
- Managing the operational purchasing process, including:
- Sending requests for quotations to suppliers, analyzing offers, and negotiating materials, parts, equipment, and services to meet quality, performance, and delivery requirements at the best total cost.
- Managing a supplier panel, which includes:
- Identifying and qualifying new suppliers.
- You have experience in Purchasing or Project Management, Minimum 6 to 7 years of relevant procurement experience, preferably in project oriented industries.
- You have a strong technical affinity, particularly with equipment derived from boiler-making.
- You hold a Master’s degree in Engineering, Management, or any other relevant field, or have equivalent experience.
- You possess technical purchasing skills, including contract drafting and associated conditions, communication and negotiation techniques, sourcing methods, and risk management.
- You have a solid understanding of procurement processes and stakeholder coordination.
- You have in-depth knowledge of the supplier market and their capabilities (company size, core business, production capacity).
- You are proficient in ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle, Microsoft Office (spreadsheets, charts, macros), and commonly used project management software.
- Languages: You are fluent in French and/or English. Knowledge of other languages is considered an asset.
- You are willing to travel occasionally, including international supplier visits.
