Job Summary:


Projects in the energy sector of John Cockerill are managed by a Project Manager for the commercial and logistic aspects. A Technical Project Manager (TPM) or Project Engineer (PE) is responsible for all engineering and technical aspects. The Project Manager Leads, coordinates projects and programs of the highest level of complexity in terms of operational and technological risks, delivery time, number of involved entities/partners, customers profile and sales price.

Directly reports to the Sector or Business Line level Management.

 

Key Objectives & Responsibilities:

 

The Project Manager will and is accountable for:

 

  • Manage Customer interface.
  • Manage all Risks and Opportunities.
  • Manage all financial aspects generally associated with Project Management.
  • The application of the Group’s Essentials in terms of Health, Safety and Environment
  • (norms application, safety design, REX, field activities, …)
  • The customer relationship with appropriate communication, behavior, reliability, and

business intelligence

  • The execution and the reporting of a Program/Project from the effectiveness of the

contract till its completion/close-out (including collection of payments and handling of

claims) seeking the best combination between:

    • The optimization of the financial results (globally and annually) and techniques specified in the contract

 

    • The customer's satisfaction (in terms of quality and delivery time)
    • The identification of opportunities along the project
    • The stakeholders’ management (internal and/or external, such as, but not limited to, interactions between dedicated Project team and other company teams, partners, or external authorities)
  • The identification and implementation of long-term specific strategies/tactics to mitigate

risks and to seize opportunities

  • The project’s budget control and forecast of costs, percentage of completion and cash
  • The control and management of the financing approach (currencies edging, external

sources of capital, …), the set of securities (documentary credit, bank guaranties, …), the

taxes (VAT, intracos, withholdings, duties…) and insurances (export credit insurance, all

risks transports, …) in coordination with Group Experts

  • The management of his/her whole project team (governance rules, organization,

performance and development objectives and assessment…) and coordination of

multidisciplinary teams (not direct report) possibly on different sites, countries,

organizations. In addition, he or she defines and follows the workload to meet the

execution needs

  • The coordination of the Projects activities (from main milestones to individual tasks)

through schedule management (schedule baseline, critical path and buffers)

  • The appropriate reporting and communication to the project stakeholders in line with

Group governance

  • The contract management and administration and particularly in crisis situation (in case

of suspension, termination, Force Majeure, bankruptcy, …)

 

Educational & Experience Requirements

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering – (Mechanical Engineering preferred)
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience managing complex projects within an engineering, manufacturing equipment or construction environment
  • Experience with HRSGs, or utility or industrial boiler industry is required.
  • Must have the ability to understand engineering drawings.
  • Have excellent computer skills including Excel.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong team leader
  • Registered Professional Engineer a plus
  • Prior experience using SAP is a plus
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills

 

Up to 30% travel required, both domestic and international
