Job summary:
This position is responsible for performing a full range of accounting activities, from transactional processing to monthly closing. The accountant will be hands-on in all aspects, including posting journal entries, conducting reconciliations, managing intercompany transactions, and preparing reports for corporate team. Additionally, this role will act as a key user for system implementations or upgrades, support the accounting procedures and internal controls implementation, and assist with tax and compliance issues.
Reporting directly to the finance shared service manager, the accountant works closely with the business controller and corporate team in Belgium.
Key responsibilities:
General accounting:
• Post manual journal entries, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies.
• Perform and oversee account reconciliations, including bank postings and reconciliation.
• Manage intercompany invoice postings, expense reports, and depreciation.
• Monitor capital leasing, asset disposals, and capitalizations.
• Lead month-end close activities, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
Banking & cash:
• Manage day-to-day banking relationships and serve as the primary point of contact for bank-related inquiries.
• Reconcile bank accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
System & process support:
• Serve as a key user in system implementations or upgrades (SAP).
• Support the implementation of new accounting procedures and internal controls.
Reporting & compliance:
• Prepare and submit reports to HQ as required.
• Coordinate and prepare documentation to support internal and external audit requests.

• Assist with tax issues, including support for authority reviews, inquiries, and form
preparation (e.g., 1099s, 8802s, and other required tax forms).
• Ensure compliance with company policies and local regulations.
Cross-departmental support:
• Act as a resource for other departments, providing accounting guidance and
assistance as needed.
• Support the business controller with financial analysis and reporting as necessary.
Qualifications:
Education and experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field. CPA preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years in general accounting, including experience with journal entries,
reconciliations, and tax reporting.
Technical skills:
• Proficiency in SAP and the Microsoft Office is required.
Skills & abilities:
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task effectively.
• Excellent and proactive communication skills.
• Capacity to work independently with minimal direction.
• Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and compliance.
