Rely is a leading technology integrator and service provider specializing in integrated, innovative and competitive solutions dedicated to the production and use of green hydrogen and its derivatives (Power-to-X). Registered and headquartered in Brussels (Belgium), Rely was launched in November 2023 by Technip Energies (60%) and John Cockerill (40%). It leverages the joint expertise of its two mother companies, with initially more than 200 hydrogen specialists working across the globe. Rely addresses the market for industrial and utility scale projects with the ambition to reach revenues of more than €1 billion by 2030. 

 

Designed to bridge the gap between green electrons and molecules, Rely end-to-end solutions contribute to the decarbonization of hard-to-abate industries, transportation and off-takers. They include pre-FID (Final Investment Decision) services (which comprise technical and financial advisory services), proprietary products, project execution capabilities and operation and maintenance services during the life of the assets of Rely’s customers.  

Rely combines a commitment to a standardized approach with the ability to develop a unique portfolio of solutions for projects of 100MW and above capacity, and is leveraging its technology and engineering expertise to drastically reduce the levelized cost of hydrogen (LCOH).  

As innovation will be instrumental in reducing cost barriers and enabling the rapid growth of green hydrogen and power-to-X markets, Rely has set up a unique research and development platform which aims to deliver technology enhancements, new technologies and products, thereby securing improved project economics for green hydrogen and power-to-X markets.   

 

Position Summary

 

The main missions of this position are to:

 

  • Develop and maintain the O&M offering with associated contractual obligations, including digital solutions (e.g. EMS)
  • Secure O&M execution, including partnership with key suppliers and OEM
  • Create, grow, develop the O&M organization including O&M culture development
  • Support Pre-FEED, FEED and EPC project by developing: Operations Readiness Program, involvement in HAZID/HAZOP, Operability/Maintainability study, SIL study, ensure interfaces with different discipline as Instrument/system and HSED for Asset Integrity Management System, follow-up of the O&M Manuals, support OTS team for the different operation scenario…
  • Promote a design to maintain/operate philosophy for all project phases i.e. installations will be easily operable and exploitable in complete safety with good profitability.
  • Be the VOC (Voice of the Customer) within the Rely organization, and more specifically towards Sales and Operations.

Accountabilities

Build foundations:

  • Define an O&M strategy and philosophy offer
  • Lead the implementation of O&M activities and team activation

 

  • Develop and implement O&M standards (incl. processes, documentations, and tools) within the management system, with a permanent continuous improvement approach.
  • Develop scenarios with ASE for different tools: OTS, ITS and PODS.
  • Define the skills required for future O&M personnel (inhouse, customer).

Execute and manage the run :

  • Perform O&M studies: participation in 3D models, operability studies.
  • Participate in the development of digital tools.
  • Participate in HAZID/HAZOP studies.
  • Guarantee that the O&M activities will take place under the conditions of hygiene, health, safety, security and environment, quality, planning, costs.
  • Provide support to Sales and Operations, from early phased through the whole cycle.
  • Support Maintenance Engineering Activities.
  • Manage O&M P&L

 

Role Requirements

 

  • Engineering degree with experience in the fields of Operation & Maintenance.
  • Recognized with a strong business expertise.
  • Practical experience in operating a plant, as a strong leader driving daily activities to operational excellence.
  • Experience in the implementation and operation of a Safety Management Systems incl. Emergency Response Plans.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Quality Assurance and Quality Control required, from petroleum or related industries.
  • A high level of self-motivation, strong interpersonal skills, ability to work within a multi-discipline and multi-cultural integrated team.
  • English proficiency.
