Job Title: Lead Atlassian Administrator

Location: Navi Mumbai

Experience Level: 7+ years

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Atlassian Administrator to manage and evolve our Atlassian ecosystem, including Jira, Confluence, and related applications. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience in administration, support, and customization of both on-premises and cloud variants of Atlassian tools. This role requires strong collaboration skills to work across teams and support end users effectively.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer and support Atlassian Cloud tools, including Jira Software, Jira Service Management, Confluence, Bitbucket, Bamboo.
  • Configure and maintain Atlassian tools to meet business needs and follow established standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate Atlassian tools with other systems.
  • Manage permissions and access control via Atlassian Access for corresponding tools and projects.
  • Develop, POC, and maintain custom marketplace plugins, workflows, and reports as needed.
  • Create training curriculums for various Atlassian users and provide training as needed.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest Atlassian tools and technologies.
  • Promote the use of Global and Project Jira Automation across existing projects to optimize operational processes.
  • Develop best practices for administering Jira effectively over the long term.
  • Create comprehensive documentation to cover Atlassian Cloud ecosystem management and standards for shared Atlassian components.
  • Monitor audit logs of Atlassian products to identify any anomalies in tool usage.
  • Provide user management support and training to end users.
  • Lead/support UAT and production rollouts.
  • Address issues promptly and respond positively to setbacks and challenges with a mindset of continuous improvement.
  • Give constructive feedback to team members and set clear expectations.
  • Help the team in troubleshooting and resolving complex bugs.
  • Carry out POCs to ensure that suggested design/technologies meet requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience, with at least 3 years of administering Atlassian Datacenter tools in a corporate environment.
  • Strong proficiency in administration and support activities of both on-premises and cloud variants of Jira, Confluence, and JSM.
  • Extensive hands-on experience in setting up, configuring, and managing Atlassian DC or Cloud.
  • Experience with automation and scripting to streamline workflows in Jira and JSM.
  • Proficiency in configuring workflows, screens, fields, permissions, and other Jira components.
  • Hands-on experience with the installation and upgrade of Atlassian applications and associated plugins (e.g., ScriptRunner, Xray, Zephyr).
  • Knowledge of at least one scripting language such as Python or Groovy.
  • Experience in migrating and consolidating projects and spaces between Atlassian instances.
  • Strong expertise in creating Jira dashboards, queries, and reports.
  • Ability to write JQL (Jira Query Language) for advanced searches and reporting.
  • Understanding of Agile and Kanban methodologies.
  • Agile project management experience: 2+ years of experience designing and customizing workflows, managing project permissions, and optimizing project lifecycle management within Jira and Confluence.
  • Certifications and experience: At least one Atlassian Cloud/Jira certification (ACP) and an understanding of advanced Jira Query Language (JQL), workflow schemes, and project templates.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to consult with scrum masters, project managers, stakeholders, and technical teams to deliver solutions that meet requirements.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and self-managed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification such as Jira Administration for Datacenters is a huge plus.
  • Experience working with DevOps and Agile processes and transforming them into Jira workflows.
  • Experience in building training programs and conducting training for other team members in Atlassian tools.
  • Strong communication and collaborative skills.
  • Drive industry standards on Atlassian tools and Agile practices.
