Overview

The E&I Drafter is an employee responsible for issuing the E&I drawings (mainly instrumentation hookups, cable tray design and supports, etc.) and Bill of Quantities (Hookups, supports, cables) of products of the Energy Sector of John Cockerill (mainly HRSG). He/She assures the delivery on time of E&I drawings and BOQ according to the milestones defined by the execution Project Teams. He/she is especially responsible for delivering his/her work in conformity with internal quality standards as defined in the QMS of the Energy Sector of John Cockerill.

Objectives

The E&I Drafter is responsible for the delivery of instrumentation hookups, cable trays drawings, cable and cable tray BOQ, … of the products of the Energy Sector of John Cockerill (mainly HRSG), as well as integrating all E&I components within the global 3D drawing of the project. He is operating under the hierarchical responsibility of the E&I Manager and the functional responsibility of the E&I Engineers with the following objectives:

• Respect of the Design Process as defined in the QMS of the Sector,
• Technical conformity of process documentation to internal standards and contractual requirements,
• Supply of a fast and reliable service to the execution teams in order to respect the document and equipment contractual delivery schedules of projects.

Responsibilities

The duties of the E&I Drafter are amongst others:

• Application of the Design Process,
• Check the completeness of the inputs received from the Technical Project Manager and engineering departments in order to proceed to his/her work,
• Issue the execution documentation in compliance with internal standards and contractual requirements,
• Issue the execution documentation in compliance with administrative standards,
• Issue BOQ’s (bill of quantities) of equipment (such as cable trays) for purchasing,
• Issue and update the standard technical documentation,
• Keep his competencies updated with regards to the needs of the Energy Sector,
• Be proactive in the continuous improvement and REX (return on experience) processes.
