John Cockerill Hydrogen has over 25 years of experience in manufacturing electrolysers and integrated hydrogen systems. We specialize in large-scale projects valued between €40 million and €100 million. With two gigafactories in France and China and a dedicated team of 300 professionals, we are accelerating our growth with multiple new projects.
⚙️ Your role: Stack Design & Make Leader
As a Stack Design & Make Leader, you will manage product development projects in the hydrogen sector and more precisely the development of alkaline stacks. You will oversee the development of the product following a NPI (New product introduction) process by ensuring projects are respecting process gates and milestones.
📋 Key responsibilities:
- Write the project charter of the new product development project with scope, targets, timing and associated budget and resources
- Lead and coordinate the NPI project by ensuring the transversal cohesion between the different stakeholders/functions involved in the project: design, quality, procurement, manufacturing, …
- Build and follow a consolidated planning based on partial plan provided by the stakeholders
- Schedule gate reviews and ensure that all parties are ready with full deliverable package
- Organize and follow a consolidated open issue list for the project
- Organize and follow a consolidated project risks file
- Consolidate and follow the budget and resources
- Provide regular status report to the management (KPI, on pager)
- Consolidate and follow the gap regarding the target cost of the product
- Manage the contractual, administrative, and financial aspects of projects, including regular budget reviews.
- Ensure project documentation is complete, accurate, and consistent.
- Champion safety, quality, and environmental standards across all projects.
- Collaborate with teams to continuously improve project processes and tools.

👥 Your team
You will work in an agile, multicultural team with members from various disciplines, including product design, manufacturing and industrial, procurement and supply chain, safety, testing and validation, quality and finance. The environment is collaborative, offering the perfect balance of autonomy and support.
You’ll report to Michel Arnalsteen, Stack Product Manager. Michel is a proactive manager who is committed to the success of his team. He encourages a collaborative approach, ensuring you have the freedom to lead while receiving guidance when necessary.
🧠 Your profile
Experience, knowledge, and hard skills:
- Engineer degree or above in mechanics, chemical, energy, oil & gas, or related fields.
- Significant experience managing product development projects for the industry (automotive, energy, …).
- Proficiency in project management systems and tools.
- Strong command of English.
- Experience managing multiple projects and balancing resource conflicts.
- PM certification is a plus
