Job Purpose 
 
John Cockerill Hydrogen is a subsidiary of the John Cockerill Group, specializing in the development of innovative solutions for the production and distribution of green hydrogen from renewable energy sources.  To strengthen the development of our activity in the hydrogen mobility sector, the John Cockerill Mobility Solutions team is looking for a Proposal Engineer who will jointly handle the development of bids for Hydrogen projects along with the Sales Manager.  
 
Key Responsibilities 
 
•    You will lead the elaboration of a proposal project covering both technical and economical topics from the receipt of the invitation to tender until contract award: 
•    Analysis of the technical specifications of the tender and highlighting relevant information to define equipment (scope of supply, capacity, performance, specific requirements, environmental conditions, general arrangement, ...) and services (Studies, installation, start-up , training, …) 
•    Create innovative solutions to meet customer needs 
•    Coordinate with the internal experts (electrical, mechanical, thermal, process, instrumentation, quality control ...), external equipment supplier and project partners 
•    Establish cost of the solution based on internal engineering, supplier bids, plant PID and General Arrangement 
•    You will be responsible for the preparation of the technical offer: 
•    Definition of the scope of supplies and services 
•    Technical specification of the equipment included in the offer 
•    Verification of overall layout and Process PID 
•    Definition of the Performance and guarantee 
•    Definition of clarifications and technical deviations to the call for tender 
•    You will lead the update process of the technical offer and follow-up of the modifications of the estimate according to the contacts and clarification meetings with the subcontractors, partners and customers 
•    You will identify and manage the risks and opportunities associated to the proposal project, define mitigation and avoidance strategy 
•    You will be handling the client negotiations for the preparation of the technical documents of the final contract together with the Sales Manager 
•    Together with the Sales team, you will promote John Cockerill Group to potential customers, and promote your projects to employees, customers and internal suppliers 
•    You will be recognized as an expert in your field towards other projects of the entity or the Group 
•    You will watch the market / product for any developments likely to bring added value to the Group (field feedback, customers, prospects ...) 

Education & Experience  
 
•    Bachelors in Mechanical/Electrical/ Electronics/Chemical Engineering or any Engineering background from a reputed University. Post-graduation will be an added advantage.  
•    5 years’ experience with an exposure to Multinational environment.  


Background, Skills and Competencies 
 
•    Experience in Capital projects, preferably in the Energy or Oil and Gas market 
•    Experience in gas applications, preferably with hydrogen or/and Ammonia production 
•    Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team 
•    Strong business acumen coupled with an autonomous and focused approach  
•    Experience in Contracts principles and negotiations is a plus 
•    Experience in EPC Projects (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) is a plus 
•    An entrepreneurial mindset and a desire to win 
•    Strong hold over MS Office tools  
•    Fluency in English (other languages are a plus)
