Your role
The Project Coordinator plays a key role in the company’s growth by ensuring the smooth and successful execution of ongoing projects. The role guarantees customer satisfaction while complying with budgetary, technical, scheduling and safety requirements, in line with John Cockerill standards and applicable ISO norms.
The Project Coordinator is a central contributor to project success, coordinating internal team resources, shared services, and managing interactions with clients and suppliers.
Your key responsibilities
Project Coordination & Execution
- Act as both technical project leader and project manager, coordinating projects of varying size and scope from start to finish.
- Manage projects with a value of up to €1 million.
- Supervise the Basic Design of solutions for products and auxiliary equipment, in close collaboration with departmental support functions.
- Provide specific expertise in thermal design, process design and equipment design to strengthen the After-Sales team.
- Lead the execution of global and detailed engineering studies for assigned projects.
- Manage project schedules and resource allocation, both internal and external.
- Validate technical documentation, drawings and parts lists, ensuring compliance with quality, cost and delivery objectives.
Cross-Functional & Site Activities
- Work closely with involved departments such as Engineering, Procurement, Site Erection, Commissioning, and others.
- Participate in on-site inspections of Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSG) and industrial boilers, to develop technical skills and deepen product expertise.
- Actively support on-site activities when required, reinforcing operational teams through hands-on involvement.
- Ensure strict compliance with site safety rules (risk analyses, prevention plans, required PPE, etc.).
Reporting, Control & Leadership
- Act as a proactive, rigorous and autonomous professional, demonstrating leadership and defending the interests of John Cockerill.
- Actively participate in project follow-up meetings, reporting and lessons-learned sessions.
- Prepare and present monthly Cost Control reports (budget tracking) for assigned projects.
- Report directly to the Operations Manager.

You will join a multidisciplinary and collaborative team, working closely with engineers, designers, project managers and business stakeholders.

Your profile
- Experience & technical skills
- Higher technical education: Thermal Engineer, Electromechanical Engineer and/or Industrial Engineer
- Minimum 5 years of experience in engineering offices and technical project management within the energy production sector, ideally in an international context
- Strong interest in developing technical expertise in thermal design, process engineering and equipment design, alongside the project coordination role
- Experience with project planning and coordination, including cost, schedule and resource management
- Proficiency in MS Office and ideally in planning tools such as Primavera or MS Project
- Fluent in English; additional languages are an asset
