Internship project at John Cockerill Defense :

The goal of this thesis is to develop a custom compact, robust, fast sensor system for measuring gun recoil travel of large caliber gun. The system should be able to process the data caputered for analysis purpose, safety and preventive maintenance purpose. The student will start by understanding how our systems are working (especially the large caliber gun systems) and define the requirements for the development. The student will do some research on existing sensors.

The student will define and evaluate some potential concepts and select the components or modules. The student will design a prototype of the customized sensing system as close as possible to the end product and implement the the designs into the John Cockerill Defense product range. The student will characterize and evaluate the sensor system and eventually take part in the validation of the product.

The student need to be avaible for at least 3 months.
