Position Summary

The Electrical & Instrumentation System Manager is responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of electrical and instrumentation systems within for Rely products and projects. This role involves managing functionally a team of engineers and technicians, ensuring compliance with industry standards, optimizing system performance to support operational goals and contributing to Green Competitiveness.

Accountabilities

System Design and Implementation:

• Lead the design and development of electrical and instrumentation systems for new products (PAAP) and projects.
• For R&D activities, including product development, accelerate TRL paths on your discipline, and identify risks & opportunities in alignment with technology roadmap
• Ensure systems are designed to meet safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
• Oversee the installation and commissioning of systems, ensuring they meet project specifications.

Maintenance and Optimization

• Develop and implement maintenance strategies to ensure system reliability and efficiency.
• Monitor system performance and implement improvements to optimize operations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to electrical and instrumentation systems.
   

Team Management

• Engage and build capability (identify critical competencies short term and long term) on Electricity and Instrumentation to discipline expert across operating centers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation
• For your disciplines, define, implement and improve ways of working to operationalize the operating model of Rely
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on project goals and timelines.
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.
   

Compliance and Safety:

• Ensure all electrical and instrumentation systems comply with Rely businesses standards and regulations.
• Promote a strong safety culture, ensuring all team members adhere to safety protocols and procedures.
• Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments.
   

Budget and Resource Management:

• Develop and manage budgets for electrical and instrumentation projects.
• Allocate resources effectively to meet project deadlines and objectives.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or safety.
   

Role Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering specializing in high voltage, with knowledge in instrumentation would be a must.
• Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in high voltage,  systems, with at least an appetence for a managerial role.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Fluent in English & French
• Ability to travel
