Position Summary
The Electrical & Instrumentation System Manager is responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of electrical and instrumentation systems within for Rely products and projects. This role involves managing functionally a team of engineers and technicians, ensuring compliance with industry standards, optimizing system performance to support operational goals and contributing to Green Competitiveness.
Accountabilities
System Design and Implementation:
- Lead the design and development of electrical and instrumentation systems for new products (PAAP) and projects.
- For R&D activities, including product development, accelerate TRL paths on your discipline, and identify risks & opportunities in alignment with technology roadmap
- Ensure systems are designed to meet safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
- Oversee the installation and commissioning of systems, ensuring they meet project specifications.
Maintenance and Optimization
- Develop and implement maintenance strategies to ensure system reliability and efficiency.
- Monitor system performance and implement improvements to optimize operations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to electrical and instrumentation systems.
Team Management
- Engage and build capability (identify critical competencies short term and long term) on Electricity and Instrumentation to discipline expert across operating centers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation
- For your disciplines, define, implement and improve ways of working to operationalize the operating model of Rely
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on project goals and timelines.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.
Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure all electrical and instrumentation systems comply with Rely businesses standards and regulations.
- Promote a strong safety culture, ensuring all team members adhere to safety protocols and procedures.
- Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments.
Budget and Resource Management:
- Develop and manage budgets for electrical and instrumentation projects.
- Allocate resources effectively to meet project deadlines and objectives.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or safety.
Role Requirements

- A team player with the ability to work autonomously and effectively within a changing environment
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering specializing in high voltage, with knowledge in instrumentation would be a must.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in high voltage, systems, with at least an appetence for a managerial role.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Fluent in English & French
- Ability to travel
